RYA Northern Ireland has announced Belfast-based chartered accountants RBCA as the first ever sponsor of its Women On Water programme.
RBCA will support for three years with its investment, helping RYANI to build awareness and enhance sailing initiatives geared towards women and girls at local sailing clubs across the Northern Ireland region.
Ross Boyd, founder and director of RBCA said: “We encourage a healthy work-life balance and believe that both spending time in the great outdoors, and learning new skills, can contribute positively to our mental resilience, yet the data shows that women can need the most encouragement to try new things.
“We are confident that with our support and influence, RYA Northern Ireland will see more women and girls taking to the water at clubs right across the region.”
RBCA’s support will this year see Ballyholme Yacht Club in Bangor host the Women On Water Festival later this month, as previously reported on Afloat.ie.
Ahead of the festival, RYANI’s development officer Jessica Penney said: “We really hope attendees on the day walk away feeling inspired, energised and connected — not just to the water, but to the community around it.”
