Malahide Yacht Club’s annual St Patrick’s Day fundraiser has raised €4,514 for RNLI Lifeboats in Howth.
The event, now in its 43rd year, welcomed members and visitors to the clubhouse on St James’s Terrace following the village parade. A total of 28 volunteers from the club and RNLI supported the event, serving hot Powers whiskey and Irish coffee throughout the day. Attendance increased after the parade, with visitors gathering at the clubhouse.
Organisers acknowledged support from Irish Distillers Pernod, Kish Fish and SuperValu Malahide, along with local skippers who donated raffle prizes. Paul King of Portmarnock won the SuperValu Easter hamper raffle.
Commodore Niall Gallagher presented Marna Law with a framed letter of thanks from the RNLI Chief Executive. Ms Law has organised the event since 2008, raising more than €46,000 for RNLI lifeboats.
