Team Nika has won the 44Cup Puntaldia after a closely contested final day in Sardinia. Vladimir Prosikhin’s crew secured victory by two points after 12 races in light, shifting conditions.
The fleet raced in a 7–10 knot southeasterly breeze, with frequent lead changes throughout the day. Team Nika began with a six-point lead but saw it cut to two after the opening race. Aleph Racing applied pressure with a third-place finish as Nika dropped to seventh.
In race two, the positions reversed, restoring Nika’s advantage heading into the finale. Despite finishing seventh again in the final race, Team Nika held on to claim the overall win.
Speaking after racing, Prosikhin said, “It wasn't easy at all. In light winds, there were ups and downs and a very strong fleet. “Today was especially difficult for us, but fortunately well enough to stay ahead.” Tactician Nic Asher added, “It’s been a tough few days in a really tricky venue… it’s a relief to win.”

Aleph Racing finished second overall, holding off a late charge from GeMera Racing. Helmsman Pietro Loro Piana said, “Up until the third race, we were worried that GeMera could take our spot. “It was tough for the tacticians out there, given how shifty it was.”
GeMera Racing was the top-scoring team on the final day with a 1-4-5 scoreline. Navigator Francesco Bruni said: “We are very happy… we made some huge improvements and feel very competitive this year.”
Black Star Sailing Team won the final race of the regatta. Peninsula Racing also impressed, taking their second race win of the event. Despite missing out on the event win, GeMera Racing now leads the 2026 44Cup standings. They claim the RC44 ‘golden wheels’ trophy ahead of the next event in Marstrand.
