The Admiral’s Cup is set to return from 13–28 July 2027, with the Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC) publishing the Notice of Race.
Yacht clubs worldwide are invited to enter two‑boat teams, competing in a Short Offshore Race, a series of Solent inshore races and the Fastnet Race to Cherbourg.
The event will be based at Cowes Yacht Haven and uses two IRC‑rated classes:
- Class 1: IRC TCC 1.292‑1.440, LOA 13.41‑17.10 m, max draft 3.9 m
- Class 2: IRC TCC 1.125‑1.282, LOA 11.50‑13.40 m, max draft 3.4 m
Entries open 1 July 2026, with a standard deadline of 28 February 2027. Late entries will be accepted until 1 March, subject to approval. Registration and inspection run from 13–15 July. Racing begins on 16 July and concludes with prize‑giving on 28 July in Cherbourg.
RORC has introduced targeted refinements for 2027, including permitted draft limits, updated rating bands, and enhanced inspection procedures. These updates follow feedback from the 2025 Admiral’s Cup.
“For 2027, our aim is to build on that foundation, not reinvent it. The feedback from teams, owners and yacht clubs has been overwhelmingly positive, and that’s reflected in this Notice of Race,” said Steve Cole, Race Director, Admiral’s Cup.
The Notice also raises the requirement for U27 and female sailors by one per team. Teams may choose which boat these sailors join, giving flexibility while reinforcing RORC’s commitment to inclusivity.
Entry fees cover berthing at Cowes Yacht Haven, social events for crews and owners, and entry to the Rolex Fastnet Race. Entries are managed via the RORC online portal.
First held in 1957, the Admiral’s Cup is widely regarded as offshore racing’s premier international team event. After a 22‑year break, it was successfully revived in 2025. The 2027 edition builds on that legacy, promising top-level international competition.
Yacht clubs are encouraged to review the Notice of Race and register their interest.
