James Neville and Karl Kwok will represent the Royal Ocean Racing Club in the 2027 Admiral's Cup after the club confirmed Ino Veritas and Beau Ideal as its official two-boat team. The campaign brings together two long-standing RORC members who both competed in the successful revival of the Admiral's Cup in 2025. Neville raced Ino Noir for the RORC, while Kwok's Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club team finished runner-up.
The pair will race Neville's Botin 52 Ino Veritas and Kwok's Botin 41 Beau Ideal under the RORC burgee when the prestigious event returns to the Solent in July 2027.
Neville, RORC Commodore from 2021 to 2023, played a key role in reviving the Admiral's Cup after its 22-year absence and said preparations would be far more extensive this time. "We came into the last Admiral's Cup underprepared," Neville admitted. "This time we have taken the team to another level, and we are doing a lot more practice."

He said the emphasis would be on operating as one integrated campaign. "It is an equal partnership. The important word is team. We are a team with two boats and two crews, and we are very proud to be representing the Royal Ocean Racing Club."
Kwok described the 2027 campaign as "unfinished business" after narrowly missing victory in 2025. "At the bottom of my heart, we felt we could have done better last year," he said. "The next Admiral's Cup is going to be even stronger, so we have to think outside the box."

America's Cup winner Dean Barker, tactician aboard Ino Veritas, believes the standard will rise again in 2027. "The key is having two boats with the same philosophy. If we collaborate, work together and share ideas and information, it will make us an even stronger partnership."
Beau Ideal project manager Gavin Brady echoed that view, saying the two programmes would benefit from sharing knowledge while focusing on developing their respective boats.
The RORC team will now begin an intensive build-up towards the 2027 Admiral's Cup, combining two experienced owners, two proven Botin designs and a wealth of international sailing talent in pursuit of one of offshore racing's most coveted trophies.
