Baltimore RNLI's J/109 Storm has provisionally completed a clean sweep of the 2026 Beaufort Cup offshore race, leading both line honours and IRC overall on the unofficial YB Tracker leaderboard after finishing the 135-nautical-mile challenge on Tuesday morning.
The tracker, which remains unofficial until race organisers publish final results, showed Storm crossing the finish at 11:21 BST after an elapsed time of 1 day, 55 minutes and 56 seconds.
At the time of writing, four of the five competing teams had finished the offshore contest, with the Sovereign Sail Navy team still at sea and approximately 17 nautical miles from the finish.
The provisional IRC standings from the tracker placed Baltimore RNLI first, ahead of Artful Dodjer, Waterfront and ReQuest, while Sovereign Sail Navy lay fifth pending its finish.
Provisional YB Tracker IRC Overall
- Baltimore RNLI (Storm)
- Artful Dodjer
- Waterfront
- ReQuest
- Sovereign Sail Navy (still racing)
As Afloat reported previously, the offshore race began from Haulbowline on Monday morning after a 30-minute postponement to allow the breeze to establish and the Naval Service vessel LÉ Samuel Beckett to clear the area.
Competitors then sailed the 135-nautical-mile course from Cork Harbour via harbour marks, out to Fastnet Rock, before returning to a finish back inside Cork Harbour.
Although Storm claimed line honours and currently heads the tracker on corrected time, the YB Tracker results remain provisional. Final IRC placings and official finishing times will be confirmed by race organisers once all competitors have completed the course and the race committee has published the official results.
The Beaufort Cup forms part of Cork Week 2026, with the inter-service and emergency services teams contesting the offshore challenge alongside the regatta programme.
