The 25th anniversary AIB DBSC Turkey Shoot opens this morning (Sunday, 2 November) for seven Sunday morning races through 14 December.
Afloat.ie’s preview flagged a bumper return, with first gun at 10:10 and short, sharp racing back on Dublin Bay.
Seventy-two boats are entered for Race One. Fleet lists show five starts under flags D, C, G, T and O (pdfs downloable below)
The opening race is set for 15 mph westerlies, with gusts touching 25 mph, promising a lively season curtain-raiser.
Notable names on the card include champion Bay Yachts, Jonny Treanor's J112e ValenTina and Chris Power Smith's J122 Aurelia, alongside a strong J/80 and cruiser mix.
Organiser Fintan Cairns says, “keelboats, cruisers, one-designs and boats that do not normally race are very welcome.”
The series is hosted from Dun Laoghaire with racing wrapped by lunchtime to suit winter weekends.
