Olympic medallist Pavlos Kontides and US sailor Charlotte Rose hold the overall leads after six races of the ILCA Coaches Regatta in Dún Laoghaire.
Three more races were completed on Dublin Bay on Saturday in sharply contrasting conditions. Competitors raced first in a 6–10 knot north-westerly before a 12-knot south-easterly sea breeze filled in for the final two races, racing against a flooding tide.
Race organisers said the RaceSense electronic officiating system again proved its value. OCS boats were able to return and restart immediately, while automated finish recording eliminated the risk of manual timing errors as large fleets crossed the line at speed.
The changing conditions have provided valuable race-course experience ahead of this summer's ILCA World Championships, which will be staged on Dublin Bay.
