Welsh‑flagged entry Jackknife, the reigning ISORA champion, is racing in the RORC Transatlantic Race, which starts from Arrecife, Lanzarote, on Sunday, 11 January at 12.30hrs.
The 3,000‑mile offshore event, organised by the Royal Ocean Racing Club, sees a diverse fleet of monohulls, multihulls, cruisers and offshore racers head west to Antigua.
All competitors must round a turning mark off Puerto Calero before venturing into the Atlantic.
Jackknife’s crew includes Andrew and Sam Hall, Thomas Tudor, Nick Butterworth and Chris Jones from Pwllheli Sailing Club, supported by Mark Bolger from Cork and Fabio Galea from Malta.

Crew from 19 nations are participating across the fleet with varied targets and ambitions.
“The team are focused and ready,” a Jackknife spokesperson said. “We wish for fair winds and a safe passage.”
