After a lively, colourful few weeks at the Larne-based East Antrim Boat Club with activities getting members in the Christmas mood – Kids' party, wreath making and Christmas Eve nibbles and mulled wine, came the post-Christmas annual regatta.

The fleet of fourteen included Flying Fifteens, Lasers, RS 200s and Optimists, most of which sailed two races in Larne Lough in fresh conditions, which forced some to decline finishing or even starting.

In the four-strong Flying Fifteen fleet, winners were the Kane and Fair duo, with the Ferris/Darragh crew one point behind.

The RS 200s had only two starters and so evenly matched were they that the tie was broken in favour of the Kane and Patterson crew.

In the mixed Laser fleet, the ILCA 6 (G Doig) won with two first places from Rory Pollard from nearby County Antrim YC in an ILCA 7.

The two Optimists finished only the first race, with the prize going to Anna Williams.

Briggs Equipment supported the event, and the chosen charity was Air Ambulance Northern Ireland.
