Mariners are advised that redevelopment works are underway at the Ferry Terminal on Great Cumbrae, Scotland.

The project includes the construction of a new slipway and land reclamation to support new terminal infrastructure. A new rock armour revetment will be installed as part of the works.

Dredging operations are planned at the location of the new slipway. The existing slipway will be demolished towards the end of the project. A piling platform will be formed using aggregate materials delivered by barge.

The barge Aria S, supported by the tugs Coastbuster and Coastworker, will transport aggregate from Hunterston Terminal to Cumbrae Ferry Terminal. At Cumbrae, the barge will operate on spud legs during discharge, with a boom deployed.

A safety boat will be on station during operational periods. All vessels involved will maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 12.

Temporary navigation buoys with yellow isophase flashing lights will be laid at the following positions:

55°47’11.28N 004°53’48.54W
55°47’08.18N 004°53’34.10W
55°47’03.58N 004°53’23.71W

Mariners are requested to navigate with additional caution in the area.

A safe distance should be maintained from the works and associated vessels.
