A local group has raised concerns over the potential impact of construction plans for a bogland site near Carlingford Lough.
As Belfast Live reports, Killowen Contracts Ltd has applied for planning permission to develop lands at Upper Dromore Road in Warrenpoint, Co Down with an existing warehouse.
The company says its application relates solely to an internal fit-out of the warehouse with office space.
But a local environmental group claims the local authority may be basing its decision on an inaccurate water mapping consultation.
RARE-Rostrevor says the lands are “highly likely to be connected hydrologically to the down-stream, protected waters of Carlingford Lough”.
It added: “It is the responsibility of the planning authority to ensure that all risks to the environment have been considered.”
