After nine races sailed, consistency pays for Belfast Lough debutante Coquine in the Musto Irish Sea Offshore Racing Association Series, where skipper Alan Hannon has a .3 lead at the top of the 34-boat fleet leaderboard.
ISORA published the overall results table so far on Wednesday, June 12th.
Counting the best five results scored, the JPK10.30 is on 450.6 points to that of second-placed North Wales J122 Mojito (Peter Dunlop and Victoria Cox) on 450.3.
Dunlop's Pwhelli Sailing Club clubmate Andrew Hall in the J125 Jackknife is in third place.
Hannon has not secured any overall race wins yet, but did achieve a class win in the Holyhead Dun Laoghaire Race last weekend. He has consistently finished races in the frame since the league began in April, and a recently slightly improved handicap from 1.021 to 1.020 will contribute to his winning edge.
It's a timely boost for the Northern Ireland crew, entering the marathon Round Ireland Race in just over a week.
