Eleven Irish and eight Welsh yachts come together from 7.30 am to 8 am on Saturday (June 7) for the start of ISORA's Race 9, the third offshore of the year, from Pwllheli in North Wales to Dun Laoghaire on Dublin Bay, Ireland.

The 19-boat fleet appears to be up to full strength and will feature high-profile former champion Rockabill VI (Paul O'Higgins) of the Royal Irish Yacht Club.

Overall series leader Chris Power Smith's J122 Aurelia will again face stiff competition from sister ship Mojito, which won the Holyhead to Dun Laoghaire race in similar conditions on May 11th.

Also racing is Andrew Hall's Lombard 46, Pata Negra, the winner of race eight of the ISORA Viking Marine Musto Championships from Dun Laoghaire to Holyhead on May 17th.

The 75-mile course, which is forecast to be sailed in gusty southwesterly winds, according to one forecast, will see the fleet start off the Pwllheli line pass ISORA's Dublin Bay Virtual Mark to starboard and finish on the far side of the Irish Sea between the pier heads at Dun Laoghaire Harbour.
