Publication of official results at lunchtime on Saturday (August 16th), confirmed Paul O’Higgins’ Rockabill VI as ISORA Viking Marine Coastal Series Champion with a commanding overall win in the Class 0 IRC division and overall.

Sailing out of Dun Laoghaire's Royal Irish Yacht Club, the JPK 10.80 posted three strong scores from four races to finish with 205.8 points.

As Afloat reported earlier, the result was well signposted by O'Higgins' three emphatic race wins in April but only confirmed after Friday, August 15th's night race in which Rockabill VI did not compete.

Second place went to Simon Knowles’ Indian, a J109 from Howth Yacht Club, finishing on 181.2 points.

Just behind on corrected points was the National Yacht Club’s Ruth, another J109 sailed by the Shanahan Family, ending with 176.4.

Nathan and Justin Burke's night race winner ReQuest and Coquine rounded out the top five, both also racing under Class 1 IRC.

Chris and Patanne Power Smith’s Aurelia took sixth overall, the Royal St George J122 finishing just ahead of Tsunami, helmed by Peter Ryan.

Grzegorz Kalinecki’s Hijacker led the second half of the top ten with consistent performances.

In Class 2, Blacksheep and State O’Shassis impressed, while Katanca and Mayfly posted solid scores.

Only 11 boats posted series scores, with many entries not starting or completing the required number of races.

ISORA Chief Peter Ryan said: “It was a great turnout early in the season, with strong conditions testing the fleet.”

Final results (below) remain provisional as of 12:56 on August 16.
