Justin and Nathan Burke's JPK 1030 Request was the overall IRC winner of ISORA's Friday (August 15) short night race on Dublin Bay, the final fixture of the Viking Marine Coastal Series 2025.
The National Yacht Club boat finished in a time of 47 minutes and 52 seconds, one minute and eight seconds ahead of Simon Knowles's J109 Indian from Howth (49 minutes). Third was reigning ISORA champion, Ruth Tom Shanahan, on 49:19.
With light winds of only 5-6 knots from the east, organisers set a shorter Dublin Bay course that could be "shortened at any mark to ensure a result".
The route was Dun Laoghaire start, Muglins (port), ISORA Dublin Virtual (starboard), Killiney Outfall (starboard), Muglins (port), and finish at Dun Laoghaire.

The line honours winner was Peter Ryan's First 40.7 Tsunami, second was Request with Chris Power Smith's J122 Aurelia third.
The race began at 19:00 on 15th August 2025 and featured a strong mixed fleet of 11 boats across IRC Classes 0, 1, and 2.
Tsunami was the best performer in IRC Class 0, finishing fourth overall on 0:49:57.
Alan Hannon’s Coquine (0:50:11) and Grzegorz Kalinecki’s Hijacker (0:51:35) followed in fifth and sixth place, respectively.
Aurelia, No Xcuse, and Katanca rounded out the top ten in the coastal contest that started from Dun Laoghaire.
Patricia Heckmann’s Mayfly was the final boat home on corrected time, completing the race in 0:55:32.
The overall winner of the Viking Marine Coastal Series 2025 for 2025 was Rockabill VI, whose three early season wins proved unassailable as Afloat reports here.
The final race of the 2025 ISORA calendar, currently led by Welsh Lombard 46 Pata Negra, is the 75-mile James Eadie Memorial Race on Saturday, 6th September from Pwllheli – Kish Light – Dun Laoghaire – James Eadie with a weighting of 1.3.
