The ISORA Viking Marine Coastal Series gets underway in earnest on Saturday morning off Dun Laoghaire following last weekend’s postponement.
Race 2 of the Musto ISORA 2026 series is now set for an 11 am start, with a 23-mile coastal course planned in medium to strong westerly winds.
The course will take the fleet from the Dun Laoghaire outfall buoy to the Muglins, Bray Outfall and East Kish, before returning to finish between the harbour pier heads.
A 13-boat fleet is entered, featuring a mix of performance cruisers and offshore racers across a wide handicap spread.
Among the entries are Chris Powr Smith's Aurelia (J122), Brizo (Sunfast 37), Johnny Treanor's Cristina (NMD 43) and FRank Whelan's El Syd (Sydney 43 GTS), alongside J109 rivals Indian (Simon Knowles) and Tom Shanahan's Ruth, but current coastal champion Rockabill VI (Paul O'Higgins) still ruled out.
Magic Touch (First 34.7), ReQuest (JPK 10.30) and Razorbill (Sunfast 3300) add further depth, while White Lotus and Pillaban complete the line-up.
Forecast conditions are expected to test crews early in the season, with steady westerlies likely to shape tactics across the Dublin Bay track.
The race marks the opening round of the Viking Marine Coastal Ireland Series within the wider ISORA championship.
