Captain's Call – Caoilinn Geraghty-McDonnell led St Andrew's College to its fifth Leinster Schools team racing title and is Afloat.ie's October Sailor of the Month (Team Racing)

In the most successful squads in sailing team racing, the hand of the Captain might lie very lightly indeed while achieving success, but nevertheless this sometimes virtually invisible power of leadership is essential to overall success. And in the final analysis, the organisers must have the name of one individual to whom they can turn in the event of team problems.

Thus, although St Andrew’s College provided an exemplary demonstration of true team performance in winning the Leinster Schools Title for the fifth time from an impressive turnout of 16 teams in October, it is to Caoilinn Geraghty-McDonnell of Dun Laoghaire that their shared “Sailors of the Month (October)” title is awarded.
