Justin Burke's JPK 10.30 ReQuest claimed line honours and IRC overall victory in Saturday's ISORA Viking Marine Coastal Series race at Dún Laoghaire.

Sailed as part of the Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin Royal Irish Yacht Club Regatta, the race attracted a smaller fleet than usual, with many regular ISORA competitors either still racing or recovering from this week's Round Ireland Yacht Race finish in Wicklow.

Just seven boats came to the start, but those that did were rewarded with a demanding race in a fresh 20 to 30-knot southerly.

The Viking Marine Coastal Series fixture was the third of five races in this season's championship.

The fleet started off the Dún Laoghaire Outfall before beating south towards Muglins, on to Moulditch Buoy and back via Muglins before finishing between the harbour piers.

ReQuest completed the course in a corrected time of 3 hours 29 minutes 05 seconds to take both line honours and IRC overall victory.

The Ker 32 Hijacker finished second on corrected time in 3:59:14, with the X-35 D-Tox third in 4:07:06. Razorbill completed the finishers in fourth.

Three boats retired from the race. White Lotus, Tsunami and Indian.

Despite the reduced turnout, the fleet enjoyed a testing coastal contest in strong breeze, with the race adding another chapter to this season's closely fought ISORA Viking Marine Coastal Series.
