Up to six Ruffian 23s will be transported from Dun Laoghaire Harbour on Dublin Bay to County Mayo for the 2025 WIORA Regatta, including the Ruffian 23 National Championships, in Westport.
The initiative has come about to support the country's biggest fleet of Ruffian one-design keelboats, now established on Clew Bay.
The trip details were revealed at Mayo Sailing Club's WIORA 2025 presentation at the ICRA Conference in the National Yacht Club, Dun Laoghaire, on Saturday morning.
WIORA Regatta will run from 18th - 21st June and immediately follows Mayo Sailing Club's 50th birthday celebrations at Rosmoney.
As regular Afloat readers know, in 2023, the West outsailed the East at the Ruffian All-Ireland Team Racing Championship when it was held on Clew Bay.
