GUL to Sponsor Irish Olympic Sailors

12th October 2009

The Irish Sailing Association (ISA) and GUL has announced a three-year partnership which will see Irish Olympic and Academy Sailors supplied with high performance quality apparel leading up to the 2012 Olympic Games.

GUL has a strong reputation with national teams; they sponsored the British Olympic Sailing Squad at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

Within the national governing body for sailing in Ireland, the Olympic Progamme delivers a performance pathway from junior sailors right through to Olympic finalists.

The ISA Olympic Programme will work closely with GUL to deliver new innovative fabrics and stylish products that deliver both the performance sailors require, and enhance the overall brand image of the Irish team.

Brian Love, Managing Director of GUL International, stated: “We are delighted to be working with the Irish Team. GUL was established in 1967 and has always prided itself on innovation and technical superiority. This partnership will be a good match for all concerned.”

James O’Callaghan, head of the ISA Olympic Programme commented: “Having seen the quality of their products we are thrilled that GUL has agreed to sponsor our team.”

The sponsorship package will cover the Irish Olympic and Academy Sailors and their coaches.

O’Callaghan continued: “We know that our sailors will be wearing the very best sailing apparel available on the market, allowing them to focus more on achieving success.”
