Robert Dickson and Seán Waddilove have confirmed their bid to represent Ireland at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
The announcement was made during the Howth Yacht Club Commodore’s Lunch last week, with the skiff duo aiming for their third consecutive Olympic Games in the 49er class.
“Their partnership is a testament to Ireland's strength in the sport of sailing, blending talent, determination and exceptional teamwork,” their home club says.
The Dubliners — Dickson is from Sutton and Waddilove from Skerries — rose to prominence with victory at the 2018 U23 49er World Championships and began their Olympic journey at Tokyo 2020, where they delivered a strong performance, finishing 13th overall and scoring a race win.
More recently, they narrowly missed out on a medal in Marseille during the 2024 Paris Olympics, where they placed just outside the podium positions.
