The opening day of the 1720 Super League at the Royal Cork Yacht Club was cancelled ahead of this weekend due to adverse weather.
The early decision was taken by Race Officer Brian Jones in conjunction with event organiser Gary Rhodes following updated forecasts.
The series had been scheduled to begin on Saturday, 11 April, with racing planned across four weekends in Cork Harbour and up to three races per day.
The 1720 Spring Super League is an open event for both club and visiting boats, sailed under one-design class rules and the Racing Rules of Sailing.
A minimum of six races is required to constitute the series, with a low-points scoring system and discard applying once sufficient races are completed.
An amendment outlining a revised schedule for the remainder of the series is expected to be issued.
