Four-time Irish Olympian Mark Mansfield delivered a standout performance at the inaugural Performance 30 Nationals on the English south coast.

Mansfield, tactician on Jukebox, guided the J/109 to overall victory at the Royal Southern Yacht Club. The boat, owned and skippered by John Smart, won by 20 points after 10 races.

Jukebox never finished outside the top three and counted six race wins. Over three days, Jukebox was easily the top P30 boat on each day.

The event formed part of the September Regatta, held from 19–21 September, featuring mid-range IRC boats such as the J/109, J/99, A31, A35, and JPK 10.10. Conditions were light to medium, with strong northerlies on Sunday causing large shifts.

Peter McConnell’s Karaboudjan finished second overall, with Andrew Screech’s Njord taking third.

The Performance 30 class builds on the success of the Performance 40 series, fostering close competition among boats in the 30–38ft range.
