The National 18 South Coast Championships scheduled at Royal Cork Yacht Club has been cancelled.
Organisers cited strong winds in Cork Harbour as the primary reason for the decision to scrub the three-person dinghy event.
In a statement, they said, "The weather, unfortunately, isn’t playing ball with us, and the most recent weather model an hour ago made the choice for us."
Plans to explore alternative racing options later this month are being considered.
