Daragh Sheridan is the new European Masters Champion in the RS Aero 6 and also topped the Irish ranking, finishing eighth overall in that class.

Three sailors represented Howth Yacht Club at the recent RS Aero European Championships at Torbole on Lake Garda.

John Phelan and Emmet Dalton battled it out a little lower down the rankings with both getting some decent individual race scores during the regatta.

An epic 11 races over three days in one of the most iconic sailing venues, followed by vino of various colours, great food and buckets of gelato, saw the Howth Gladiatori rounding off as follows: Daragh 8th, Emmet 29th, John 31st.

The non-Howth members of the Irish team from Garda were Noel Butler (NYC), 11th and second Master; Roy Van Maanen, Greystones, 23rd in the Aero six-rig; and Thomas Chaix (NYC) in the Aero 7, finishing 5th out of 25.
