Two AIB DBSC Water Wag races on Wednesday evening (June 10th) saw honours shared between Swallow and Tortoise as the fleet competed for the National Yacht Club Regatta and the Women At The Helm Trophy.

Race Officer Tadhg Donnelly set a two-round windward-leeward course in a westerly breeze ranging from 10 to 16 knots.

A fleet of 23 boats lined up for the National Yacht Club Regatta race. Water Wag No. 40 Swallow, sailed by Justin Geoghegan and Alison Hackett, led for much of the contest and secured victory.

Patricia (No. 29), sailed by Harry and Ian Croxon, finished second, with Tortoise (No. 42), sailed by William and Laura Prentice, taking third place.

After a short break, 18 boats returned to the start line for the Women At The Helm Trophy race.

Cathy MacAleavey aboard Mariposa established an early advantage, but Patricia and Hilda remained in close contention throughout.

Laura Prentice, helming Tortoise, came through to claim line honours and the Women At The Helm Trophy. MacAleavey finished second aboard Mariposa, while Amy Byrne steered Hilda into third place.
