Royal St. George's Viking Wins Light Airs Shipman Nationals at DMYC

Viking has won the Light Wind Shipman National Championships after four races at the 2025 National Championship hosted by the Dun Laoghaire Motor Yacht Club.

Sailed by Tubridy, Duggan, McCrohan, and Mason from RStGYC, Viking scored 1, 1, (3), 1, totalling 3 points. It also took honours for handicap.

Twocan, sailed by David Freeman from RStGYC, finished second with results of (2), 2, 1, 2, leaving him two points behind with a total of 5. Ruadh, owned by John O’Callaghan of NYC, finished third on 9 points, with results of 4, (5), 2, 3.

Aisling Costello’s The Den secured fourth place with consistent scores of 3, 3, (5), 4, for a total of 10 points. In fifth place is Poppy, sailed by Alain Deladiennée of RStGYC, with results of (6), 4, 4, 6, accumulating 14 points.

The championship, overseen by Race Officer Cormac Bradley, concluded on Saturday with DBSC's regular Saturday race.
