After three Sundays lost to adverse forecasts, Viking Marine DMYC Frostbites racing resumed last weekend at Dun Laoghaire Harbour.

However, the racing scheduled for Sunday, March 15, has now been cancelled due to strong winds.

Organiser and Race Officer Cormac Bradley confirmed the decision on Saturday night.

“Just checked forecast again – Met Éireann and XCWeather – wind is too strong again, base wind in excess of 20 knots, gusts in the thirties,” Bradley told Afloat.

“Unfortunate, but that’s not even marginal.”

The decision follows forecasts indicating sustained winds above 20 knots, with gusts exceeding 30 knots in Dun Laoghaire Bay.

Racing continues next Sunday.
