Jacqueline McStay has been elected as the new Commodore of Dublin Bay Sailing Club, the country's largest yacht racing club.
This decision comes after Ed Totterdell completed a successful two-year term during which he oversaw several significant developments, including the addition of the club's new committee vessel, Corinthian in the club's 140th anniversary year.
In addition to McStay’s election at last week's agm, Brian Mathews has stepped into the role of Vice Commodore.
The club also sees a reshuffling of other key positions: Jonathan Skerritt is now Rear Commodore, while Keith Poole takes over as Honorary Treasurer. Rosemary Roy will continue to serve as Honorary Secretary, and the main committee has seen both re-elections and new appointments. Ian Bowring, Kevin Byrne, Declan Curtin, Sabrina Mahony and Declan Traynor have been re-elected, while Sarah Dwyer and Brian Mulkeen join the committee as newly elected members.
DBSC, which celebrated its annual prizegiving last month, offers year-round racing for its 200-boat fleet with the DBSC Turkey Shoot series, though cancelled at the weekend due to Storm Darragh, concluding next Sunday, December 15th.
