On a very pleasant day for sailing, the ILCA summer sprint series fleet arrived at Kinsale Yacht Club for round two. (Unfortunately, round one at Glandore Harbour was cancelled due to lack of wind).
John Stallard was the Officer of the Day and won five races across three fleets on a day that started with a light breeze and finished with a healthy southerly breeze.
Racing was held under Charles Fort, and many tourists and spectators from Charles Fort's vantage point easily observed some tight racing.
John Sullivan had a strong team of volunteers who laid marks and ensured safety on the water.
Sailors from South Africa, Australia, and Belgium attended the event in Kinsale.
Winners on the day:
Olin Bateman (ILCA7), Rob Jeffreys (ILCA6), Eolann Miles (ILCA4) and Lucy Foster(1st girl).
The next round is scheduled for Bantry Bay Sailing Club on August 4th.
All details and the entry form can be found here. Events can be entered individually or for the full series. Three events are to count for overall series prizes.
