Following light air racing on Saturday, January 17, local ace Ronan Keneally has taken an early lead in the Monkstown Bay Sailing Club Laser Winter League 2026 after six races and one discard.

Sailing in the ILCA7 class, Keneally sits top of the table with a net score of 7 points, having not finished below third in any race.

Brendan Dwyer follows in second on 16 points. A strong finish in Race 6 helped secure his position, finishing second behind Keneally.

Third place is held by Olin Bateman, who sailed consistently to secure a net total of 25 points.

Rounding out the top five is Sean O’Herlihy on 27 points. His best result was a fourth-place finish in Race 3, demonstrating steady performance across the fleet.

According to MBSC officials, the series "remains wide open with multiple sailors still in contention".

Six races have been completed so far, with one discard applied. Racing continues next weekend.
