The Royal Cork Yacht Club held its annual Laying Up Supper on Saturday evening, capping off the 2025 sailing season with celebration and recognition.
The packed Club Dining Room welcomed members and guests for an evening of awards and appreciation. Admiral Annamarie Fegan opened proceedings before passing the baton to Rear Admiral Keelboat Racing, Rob Foster.
Foster praised the club's volunteers, race officials, sponsors, and staff for a successful season. “A huge thank you to everyone who makes our racing calendar possible,” he said, acknowledging partners AIB Bank, Johnson and Perrott, and John Paul Construction, alongside sponsors UK Sailmakers Ireland and Brown and Brown Insurance.

Nine new boats joined the club’s racing fleet in 2025, a notable highlight of the year.
Top awards went to standout performers across keelboat and dinghy racing:
- Keelboat Sailor of the Year: Harry Durcan
- U25 Sailor of the Year: James Dwyer
- Senior Dinghy Sailor of the Year: Ben O’Shaughnessy
- Volunteers of the Year: Louise O’Keeffe and Hillary Duane
Super League prizes recognised consistency in summer racing:
- Spinnaker Saturday Series: Big Mc – Frank & Celine McGrath
- Non-Spinnaker Saturday Series: Prince of Tides – Frank Caul & John Molloy
- Thursday Spinnaker IRC & ECHO: Ellida – Ria Lyden
- Thursday Non-Spinnaker IRC & ECHO: Cavatina – Ian Hickey
- Friday Non-Spinnaker ECHO: Lapwing – Conor Hanlon
Maurice and Siobhan Collins received a Sportsmanship Award for Sepideh.

Sean Pierce was recognised for the Cruising Log of the Year.

- Club Boat of the Year (Spinnaker): Bataleur 88 – Pat Tanner
- National Boat of the Year: Swuzzlebubble – James and Dave Dwyer
- International Boat of the Year: Antix – Anthony O’Leary
