Applications for the 2026 IRC Rating opened in January. More than 660 northern hemisphere boats have already secured certificates for the new season.
The Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC) Rating Office and UNCL, Pôle Course du YCF, which form the IRC Rating Authority, report a strong early uptake.
A further 670-plus southern hemisphere boats continue racing under IRC using 2025 certificates until the end of May.
IRC certificates are issued on application rather than renewed automatically. Owners must review their boat data, declare changes and submit updated details before a new certificate is issued.
The 2026 season will see IRC racing across club and international levels. The programme spans grassroots events and major championships worldwide.
Key fixtures include the IRC European Championship in Poole, UK, in May.
