Lough Ree Yacht Club is preparing to host its biennial Double Ree Regatta on 25 and 26 July, welcoming young sailors from across Ireland.

The event will bring together five youth double-handed fleets for a weekend of racing on Lough Ree. This year's programme includes the 49er National Championships, the Mirror Western Championships, the 29er Western Championships, and the RS Feva and 420 Double Ree Championships.

The inclusion of the 49er class marks a first for the regatta, with Ireland's skiff sailors contesting their national title on Lough Ree.

The event is expected to attract youth crews from clubs across the country, providing competitive racing across all five fleets at one of Ireland's premier inland sailing venues.
