Ireland’s Noel Hendrick is through to the K1 canoe slalom semi-final after his top-20 finish in the heats at Vaires-sur-Marne on Tuesday (30 July), as The Journal reports.
The Co Kildare man, who secured the second Olympic quota place for Ireland at the 2024 Canoe Slalom World Championships, placed 19th with a second run of 90.68 seconds.
That’s some way off the pace of France’s Titouan Castryck, who leads the field with a second run of just 80.09 seconds.
The K1 semi-final is scheduled for 2.30pm Irish time this Thursday 1 August, and the 12 fastest will qualify for the final at 4.30pm.
