Jake Scrace, a British kitesurfer, has set a new Guinness World Record. He reached an impressive 1,587 feet in a kitesurf tow-up over the Needles, Isle of Wight.
Scrace was towed skyward by paramotor pilot Chey Anich. After reaching altitude, he cut loose and glided back to the sea, nearly doubling the previous record of 908.7 feet.
“This was the biggest challenge I’ve ever taken on,” said Scrace. “Up there, it was about trusting the team and the conditions. The sense of freedom was incredible.”

The feat was officially verified by Guinness World Records using drones, bodycams, and GPS technology. The organisation noted this achievement as part of its 70th anniversary of recognising remarkable feats.
Pravin Patel, Guinness World Records adjudicator, remarked, “This stunt reflects innovation and daring. We’re proud to recognise this milestone.”
