The row over the hosting of the historic Liffey Swim will be taken to the courts, as The Journal reports.

Earlier this week, Leinster Open Sea (LOS) filed legal proceedings against Ireland’s national governing body for swimming to prevent it from organising a “duplicate” Liffey Swim and Dun Laoghaire Harbour race this year.

LOS has accused Swim Ireland of attempting to take over the Liffey Swim, which it has hosted for many years. Swim Ireland, meanwhile, suggested that it has “governance concerns” regarding LOS.

Both parties hosted competing events in 2024, as previously reported on Afloat.ie, which LOS says “caused considerable confusion among swimmers, volunteers, and the public”.

The Journal has more on the story HERE.
