Vermilion Exploration & Production Ireland Limited is engaged in a campaign of inspection of the Corrib gas nearshore pipeline and umbilical off Co Mayo.
The works were due to commence on Monday 18 May and last for around 10 days, subject to weather and operational constraints.
Visual and acoustic surveys are being conducted by means of vessel mounted sensors, cameras, ROV and towed side-scan sonar.
The nearshore pipeline and umbilical sections will be inspected from the nearest point accessible inshore at high tide, progressing to offshore, until a suitable overlap with the offshore inspection is achieved.
The vessel Bella C (callsign EI3325) is undertaking the nearshore survey scope while the vessels Macbel (callsign EIHL5) and the Blue Eagle (callsign EI6808) are providing safety and welfare support. The vessels are listening on VHF Channel 16 throughout the project.
A map and coordinates of the work area, as well as contact details, can be found in Marine Notice No 24 of 2026 attached below.
