The Department of Transport has been advised that Gas Networks Ireland will conduct remotely operated vehicle (ROV) survey operations in the northwest Irish Sea along the pipelines of the Irish Sea Gas Interconnector.
These will be followed by maintenance interventions to remove any debris found across the pipelines during the survey operations as well as to install pipeline supports (rock bags) where pipeline free spans are identified.
The operations, which themselves follow nearshore survey operations on the interconnector pipelines, will take place from Saturday 7 November to Saturday 5 December, subject to weather and operational constraints.
Works will be conducted from the offshore support vessel Aquarius-G (callsign PIPS) which will operate on a 24-hour basis. During the investigations, the vessel will display the relevant IRPCS day shapes and night lights and will monitor VHF Channels 16 and 12.
A map and coordinates of the work areas, as well as contact details, can be found in Marine Notice No 52 of 2026 attached below.
