Four prominent sites at Dún Laoghaire Harbour have been zoned for potential development as part of a National Watersports Campus.
The designated areas, marked A through D, are outlined in a new planning map released by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council’s Planning and Economic Development Department.
Area A, located near Carlisle Pier, covers 620 square metres. Area B comprises 195 square metres. The largest zone, Area C, spans 4,356 square metres. Area D, located west of the harbour, measures 1,350 square metres.
According to the map, the land falls under zoning objective "W", aimed at “waterfront development and harbour-related uses”.
The map, dated December 2025, was prepared by the council’s Infrastructure and Climate Change division. It notes the precise Irish Transverse Mercator (ITM) coordinates for each zone.
The proposed development would form part of a broader push to promote marine leisure, training and sport at the historic south Dublin port.
No formal application for development has yet been submitted, but the zoning update signals intent for future use of the space.
Further details are expected as part of a wider planning strategy.
The map was part of a Maritime Area Consent (MAC) application received by the Marine Area Regulatory Authority (MARA) in January 2026. More here
