The Irish Whale and Dolphin Group’s (IWDG) roadshow comes to Kilmore Quay this Friday 10 April, as South East Radio reports, with an evening dedicated to drumming up interest in whale watching and conservation.
This free event cohosted with Fair Seas at the Stella Maris Centre from 5.30pm to 8pm welcomes everyone from longtime wildlife fans to curious novices, to share more about the role that whales and other cetaceans play in Ireland’s marine ecosystem.
It also comes just in time for Whale Watch Ireland 2026 on Saturday 23 May, when the IWDG hosts free and guided watches at 18 land-based vantage points around the island of Ireland.
This year’s event is once again being held alongside National Biodiversity Week Ireland, which runs from 15–24 May, as well as to coincide with the usually better weather conditions of early summer.
This event is suitable for all ages and is aimed at everyone from new marine wildlife enthusiasts to more experienced naturalists. For details on the scheduled watches and their relevant contacts, see the IWDG website HERE.
