RWE is showcasing its flagship Dublin Array Offshore Wind Farm at Wind Energy Ireland’s National Exhibition 2025 this week.

The company’s offshore development team will be on hand throughout the event (from October 22nd to 23rd) to engage with stakeholders and discuss the project.

Dublin Array’s planning application has been under review by An Coimisiún Pleanála since February 2025. The project previously secured a Maritime Area Consent in 2022 and an ORESS contract in 2023.

RWE returns as a strategic sponsor for a third consecutive year, reflecting its ongoing commitment to Ireland’s clean energy ambitions.

“RWE is delighted to once again support Wind Energy Ireland’s National Exhibition 2025,” said Peter Lefroy, Country Chair of RWE Renewables Ireland. “The event offers a valuable opportunity to engage directly with suppliers, contractors, and service partners.”

The exhibition serves as a key platform for dialogue among policymakers, developers, and supply chain partners. It supports national goals for energy security and climate action.

RWE’s Irish portfolio spans offshore and onshore wind, as well as battery storage. Recent developments include construction of the 60MW Ardagh Battery Project in Co Meath and a planning application for the 66MW Shancloon Wind Farm in Co Galway.

The company also won a RESS5 contract for the 81.6MW Lyrenacarriga Wind Farm on the Cork/Waterford border.

Panel sessions will feature RWE’s Jordan O’Neill and Helen K. Thomas discussing local supply chain opportunities. Peter Lefroy will deliver a market update on offshore wind.

RWE welcomed the recent announcement of an Offshore Wind Energy Clearing House by An Taoiseach Micheál Martin, designed to streamline project delivery.

“Ireland is an important market for RWE,” Lefroy added. “We look forward to working closely with government, industry, and communities.”

RWE is one of the world’s largest renewable energy companies, operating across 30 countries with around 20,000 employees.

About the Dublin Array Offshore Windfarm

The Dublin Array Offshore Windfarm was first proposed in 1999, envisioning a future powered by clean energy. Situated approximately 10 kilometres off the coasts of Dublin and Wicklow counties in the Irish Sea, this ambitious project aims to harness the power of the wind to generate electricity on a massive scale. With an impressive installed capacity of up to 834 megawatts, the wind farm is expected to feature up to 50 wind turbines, each standing tall with a maximum tip height of 310 metres. The anticipated economic impact of the Dublin Array is significant, with expected capital investment exceeding €2 billion. Planning permission was lodged in March 2025.
