A residential cruise ship which finally departed on its inaugural around-the-world voyage on Monday after months of delays, however as Afloat highlighted yesterday only reached Belfast Lough where it still remains today.
As BBC News reports, the US operator, Villa Vie Residences' 650 capacity Odyssey was scheduled to depart in May but has been beset with delays due to unexpected repairs and five months after arriving at the Harland & Wolff shipyard. However the 24,344 gross ton ship has yet to leave Northern Ireland waters.
The 195m cruise ship, which was also refurbished at H&W, is anchored off Bangor, Co. Down having departed Belfast Cruise Terminal (as above) just before midnight on Monday and had been expected to set sail again yesterday.
Instead, the 31-year-old cruise ship, which served before as Braemar of Fred Olsen Cruise Line, is now expected to depart this mid-afternoon, according to the Belfast Harbour website.
