Funds for the Corrib Mask Search and Rescue organisation have been raise in an annual truck run through part of Connemara.
As RTÉ News reports, over 100 illuminated trucks recreated the Coca-Cola Christmas truck advert made for television to raise funds in the charity drive.
The trucks took a route through Gleann an Mháma, the Gaeltacht villages of Corr na Móna, An Chloch Bhreac and An Fhairche to Cong, Co Mayo.
It was the fifth annual Joyce Country Truck Run, and organiser Paddy Rock said it is organised to raise “much needed funds for the brave volunteers who risk their own lives to save others".
Corrib Mask Search and Rescue volunteers cover the lakes of Mask, Corrib and surrounding areas, under the aegis of the Irish Coast Guard, Water Safety Ireland and the Irish Red Cross.
