A Disney-themed cruise liner went into action before its maiden voyage to rescue four people from a sinking catamaran at the weekend.

As Marine Industry News reports, the enormous Disney Treasure launched one of its lifeboats to save the occupants of the 50ft catamaran after it began taking on water some 230 nautical miles southwest of Bermuda on Sunday (10 November).

The 341-metre cruise ship was en route from shipyards in the Netherlands to its new home port of Port Canaveral, Florida when its crew leapt into action.
