Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council has applied to the Maritime Area Regulatory Authority (MARA) to regularise existing pontoons adjoining the Irish Lights Buoy Bank quayside in Dún Laoghaire Harbour.
The application, reference MAC260026, was received on 25 September 2026 and concerns existing pontoons and their connection to the adjoining quay.
Council Drawing Identifies 382m² Consent Area
An official council location drawing, PL-26-123, dated September 2026, identifies a 382-square-metre maritime consent area beside the quayside off Crofton Road.
The figure refers to the consent area, not necessarily the dimensions of the pontoons themselves. The drawing does not establish their ownership, operator or current use.
MARA Decision Awaited
MARA lists the application as Applied, with no determination recorded. The application concerns regularisation of existing infrastructure, not approval for construction of new pontoons.
Details can be found under reference MAC260026 in MARA's applications and determinations register.
