Irish Ferries has won the prestigious Ferry Company of the Year award at the Irish Travel Industry Awards (ITIA).

“Complacency never sets in, and we never take industry recognition for granted.” These were the words of Irish Ferries’ Managing Director, Andrew Sheen, who was speaking following the company’s 14th successive Ferry Company of the Year win recently.

“We take great pride in striving to consistently deliver a world-class service, and it’s a great honour to have the standards that we work so hard to achieve recognised by our industry peers. 14 years represents a significant milestone, reflecting both our long-standing commitment to customers and the strength of the people and culture that drive the Irish Ferries business,” said Andrew Sheen.

The ITIA awards took place at a gala event at Dublin’s Mansion House where the Irish Ferries’ team celebrated having been selected by Ireland’s travel agents as Ferry Company of the Year.

Irish Ferries operates on routes between Ireland and Britain, (Dublin-Holyhead and Rosslare- Pembroke), Ireland and France (Dublin-Cherbourg) and Britain and France (Dover-Calais).

The company is an operating division of publicly quoted Irish Continental Group (ICG) with a fleet of modern cruise and fast ferries, including the Oscar Wilde (as above) fresh from drydocking, James Joyce, Ulysses, W.B. Yeats, Isle of Inisheer, Isle of Innisfree, Isle of Inishmore, and the Dublin Swift.

The ITIA Awards bring together the travel industry’s leading figures to celebrate and showcase excellence in the delivery of travel services to both leisure and business customers.

We've got a favour to ask

More people are reading Afloat.ie than ever thanks to the power of the internet but we're in stormy seas because advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news sites, we haven't put up a paywall because we want to keep our marine journalism open.

Afloat.ie is Ireland's only full-time marine journalism team and it takes time, money and hard work to produce our content.

So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

If everyone chipped in, we can enhance our coverage and our future would be more secure. You can help us through a small donation. Thank you.
