The Sea-Fisheries Protection Authority has published updated documents relating to transport of fishery products.
It says that an updated Transport of Fishery Products Fisheries Information Notice sets out when wild-caught fishery products may be transported before first sale without a transport document.
It has also published updates to its Transport Document Exemption Policy, which simplify and align it with the amended EU Control Regulation and with Ireland's control plan for fisheries management.
The policy sets out the circumstances in which fisheries products may be transported without a transport document and the conditions attaching to those exemptions.
Where an exemption does not apply, transport documents must be submitted electronically before transport of the fisheries products begins, in accordance with Article 68 of the amended Control Regulation,it says.
