Third Tanker Sister of Quartet Added to Ardmore Fleet

#ThirdSister- A Japanese shipyard has delivered Ardmore Chinook, the third newbuild out of series of four tankers for Ardmore Shipping Corporation.

The 25,000dwt tonnes IMO2 product and chemical tanker Ardmore Chinook was delivered by Fukuoka Shipbuilding Co. Ltd from their Nagasaki shipyard last week on the 17th July.

She joins the Ardmore fleet which increases to 21 tankers on the water following June's debut of Ardmore Seafox. This newbuild from a South Korean yard is of a different class and at twice the tonnage of 49,999dwt, for more details click previous report here.

Technical management of this latest addition sees Ardmore Chinook provided by Thome Ship Management Pte Ltd.

Commenting on her delivery, Mark Cameron, Ardmore Shipping's COO, said: "We are pleased to welcome the Ardmore Chinook, sister ship to the Ardmore Cherokee and Ardmore Cheyenne, to our growing fleet. We extend our gratitude to Fukuoka Shipbuilding for their commitment and professionalism throughout the build process".

He added "The addition of the Ardmore Chinook realises our continued commitment to building a fleet of modern, fuel efficient and high quality vessels. We wish the Ardmore Chinook and her crew 'fair winds and following seas' as she goes on to fulfill her long and successful service within the Ardmore fleet."

As with the her sisters, Ardmore Chinook is an eco-desigedn vessel, fully equipped with a variety of fuel-saving measures, including Skysails vessel optimisation software.

Ardmore Chinook and her sisters were all delivered in 2015 from Fukuoka Shipbuilding. The final newbuild is also to be delivered from yard in the last quarter of this year.
